Pioneer is pleased to announce the caption heads for the 2012 season.

Joining Lansing Dimon (Brass) and Seth Pearson (Colorguard) from the 2011 season will be Tyrell Carver for the Percussion and Sean McDermott for the visual program.

Lansing enters his second season as Brass Caption Head, having returned to the corps during the summer last season and having instructed in 2008 and 2009. His teaching spans over two decades, having been a band director and instructed with several bands in New York, and has marched and instructed previously with the Syracuse Brigadiers and Kingston Grenadiers. Lansing is a graduate of Syracuse University and holds a bachelors and masters in Music Education and Instructional Design and Development.

Seth began his marching experience at Carolina Crown and Americanos. During this time he became highly involved in the winter guard circuit marching over the past 15 years. Most recently, Seth marched with Onyx in 2011 where they received a silver metal at WGI. Seth is an active writer, consultant and performer in winterguard and colorguard activities and is entering his 5th year working with Pioneer.

Joining us from Rochester, NY, Tyrell Carver has been prominent in percussion writing and instruction in New York state. Tyrell has taught and arranged for several marching bands, including the Webster and Greece marching band programs. He has also been on staff for several drum and bugle corps, including Spectrum, Rochester Crusaders and the Empire Statesmen. Tyrell is continuing his studies in percussion and music, having a B.A. in music from the University at Buffalo, and is pursuing a degree in percussion performance.

Hailing from California, Sean McDermott is a consultant and instructor for many bands and indoor ensembles throughout the United States. Before coming to Pioneer, Sean worked with Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps.
