February 27th - Visitors at March Camp & Sad Losses

VISITORS AT CAMP:

Mr. Rick Specht from Manitowoc, Wisconsin will visit us with several of his board members on Saturday. They are restarting their Royal Knights Corps and want to see how our camp functions.

Mr. Andrew Schueller will give a brief presentation about Christian Contemporary Music and what it means to us, as well as the audiences that we perform for. This will take place on Saturday.

SAD LOSSES:

Regretfully, we have lost two great supporters of our Pioneer Corps and the drum corps activity:

Mrs. Dorothy Seeley the founder and president of the United Seniors of Wisconsin, our biggest fan, who was in charge of the Bingo Hall that we raise funds at, passed away just a few days before her 97th birthday. Many of you remember playing for her and also the Bingo contributors when we would have an exhibition at the Bingo hall’s parking lot. She always spoke highly about your corps and appreciated the Memorial day Performance at the Greenfield Library’s park-like setting. At the funeral, Nick (Little Bear) Fugh and his brother Grant (Rookie Trumpet) were in uniform opening doors for the people attending Mrs. Seeley’s funeral. They looked very sharp and made quite a positive impression.

Mr. Dan Omilianowski (73 years) passed away on January 7th, 2013. His death of a heart attack was completely unexpected. Most people knew both him and his wife Patty. They worked with Drum Corps Midwest, Drum Corps International, and the Madison Scouts for many years. They often also helped the Pioneer Corps and were well-known to many throughout the world of drum corps. Our Pioneer Corps sent some green and white flowers to the funeral. Roman and Sue Blenski attended his funeral.
